OVERVIEW
Historically, luxury tents served as the mobile palaces of the Rajputs –sophisticated “homes away from home” during extended safari campaigns. RAAS Chhatrasagar honours this legacy, translating the functional elegance of the royal field camp into a permanent, lakeside retreat.
Our new tents are larger, soundproofed, and more solid structures. Each tent exhibits contemporary design sensibilities with soft, muted colours, Jodhpur stone, teak furniture, and skylights; understated but chic and fresh. All the establishments within the hotel have air-conditioning and heating so the camp remains open year-round – one of the few tented camps in India to do so.
A new walkway to the tents allows you to sit outside your room while providing more privacy, retaining the idyllic views. There’s nothing quite like sitting on your veranda, with a good book, sipping a beverage, and being rewarded with glorious, uninterrupted views of the lake and the 250+ species of birds.

We offer 16 unique tents (12 luxury and 4 family) designed for comfort and seclusion. Lined along the lake, every tent provides stunning views of the wildlife and the constant soundtrack of birds chirping. Your stay includes a private sit-out, a well-furnished room with all modern amenities, and a luxurious bathtub.

Our all-day dining restaurant offers mesmerizing views of Lake Chhatra Sagar. Indulge in a wide array of Indian and International cuisine, including local Rajasthani delicacies. We ensure maximum freshness by using organic vegetables handpicked daily from our own garden.

THE ESSENCE & EXPERIENCE
The essence of the camp remains unchanged. The founders of RAAS have a strong belief and passion for Chhatrasagar and so, any improvements to the camp are made in a sensitive way. A major focus remains on the birdlife, farming communities, walks and rewilding.
Accompanied by one of our knowledgeable naturalists, explore the farm, local temples and meet the villagers. Take a stroll around the lake at dawn, or an evening jeep drive through the grasslands, spying myriad bird species and herds of blue bull. Finish with a sundowner, relax in the tented sitting room and enjoy chatting around a bonfire under a canopy of stars, before settling into a culinary feast for dinner.
We use local, organic home produce as much as possible, with meals made using age-old family recipes.
