The Hawa Mahal was built in 1799 and is one of Jaipur’s most sought-after tourist destinations. The 953 windows or Jharokhas’ on the outside walls add immense value to the beauty of its architecture. The honeycomb shape of the structure and its intricately carved windows allow the breeze to blow through the entire palace — staying true to its name and making it the ideal summer palace.
The palace is located a stone’s throw away from the commercial city center and also contains a small museum within the complex. This museum showcases famous miniature paintings, memorabilia, and ceremonial armor.
